Incoming Fax To PC Email

Fax Delivery
In conjunction with the Ascom Fax Router, RELAY can automatically deliver inbound faxes directly into the mailboxes of any MAPI or VIM compliant Mail package (cc:Mail, Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Exchange, Groupwise, Lotus Notes, BeyondMail etc).

The fax addressee receives a notification of the message by mail confirming the date and time of arrival and the number from which it was sent.

The incoming fax image is delivered to the user mailbox as a TIFF attachment to the notification message.

Fax Viewing
A double click launches the RELAY TIFF fax viewer where the user can rotate the image, zoom in and out, and examine pages individually.

The fax attachment can be treated like any other item of mail if further processing such as onward delivery is required.

A 'gateway' PC is required to provide the link between the RELAY Host and the PC Network facility. A 386 processor with basic memory and hard disk specification is the minimum requirement. It can share other duties though a dedicated machine may be preferred for reasons of stability and resilience.
