E - Mail gateway for Exchange
The Relay e-mail gateway allows Exchange users to send and receive
faxes just like e-mail.
Send
The e-mail gateway gives users of Microsoft Exchange and Lotus
Notes Servers, the convenience of sending and receiving e-mail
and fax messages from one common interface. Its one they
are already familiar with and use daily: Exchange client, Notes
or Outlook. There is no need to install a separate fax client
programme - though its there for power users if they
want it.
Microsoft Outlook
In Exchange, Lotus Notes or Outlook just point and click on the
New Message icon. Then address your message by selecting a Relay
entry from your personal address book or the business fax number
for an Outlook contact. Or enter the details directly. The message
will be submitted to the Exchange or Lotus Notes Server which
passes it on to Relay.
Attachment
An e-mail message for faxing may include attachments such as
Word and Excel. Relay uses Rendering Technology to convert these
attachments into Group 3 TIFF format ready for faxing on the server.
Address Book
A message can be addressed to both fax and e-mail recipients.
Distribution lists can contain both modes of communication too.
The result is that you treat everyone as if they are on the Internet.
Inbox
The Relay server will inform you by e-mail when the fax was sent
successfully, and if not, why not. For your records, this notification
can include a copy of what was actually fixed.
