Why and What to Automate
Purchase ordering, sales ordering and invoicing systems
all output some kind of confirmation document, which traditionally
is posted to the intended recipient. Printing such documents,
to be manually posted or faxed, is very costly in both stationery
and postage, not to mention the staff cost to carry out the
process. As accounting procedures are now computer based, they
are ideal applications for fax automation. Through RELAY's API
modules, it is a simple task for any system to provide the data
which will result in a computer generated fax message.
To retain the quality of pre-printed forms traditionally
used in these applications, an image of the printed form is
held in a library. Applications therefore need only to pass
through the data that is to be added to the form. The RELAY
forms merge module overlays this data on to the image of the
form and transmits the result as a fax.
Form Creation
RELAY can use forms which have been generated by any
forms package that can produce output in PostScript format.
Alternatively, if you do not have this facility,
our forms creation service can take your printed form and create
an image that can be used by RELAY.
Multiple forms can be stored for use by RELAY,
and it is possible to use a combination of different forms in
a single message.
