Relay Client-Server
Sending
Fax automation has never been simpler. With RELAY Client-Server
you can send faxes from any Microsoft Windows 3.1 or Windows 95
application.
The RELAY server software on the host is accessed via TCP/IP
or DECnet so you can also enquire about the status of your messages
directly from your PC. You can create and maintain Personal Address
Books to provide quick and easy access to regularly used numbers.

Sending a fax message is just as simple as printing. Create your
message in any Microsoft Windows application, click on FILE and
PRINT to select the RELAY fax printer driver and the RELAY basic
dialogue box will be displayed.
You only need to provide the destination number or phone address
book short code before clicking on the 'Send' button to put your
fax into the RELAY queue
An advanced dialogue box lets you change your default transmission
values as long as you have the necessary privilege.
Finally, a log number is displayed so you know your message has
been successfully accepted. Once your fax has been transmitted
RELAY can also send a confirmation message to your VMS Mail inbox.
Queue enquiry
The RELAY Queue Enquiry window shows the current status of your
messages. Here you can see at a glance whether they have already
been sent or are still awaiting their turn. With the correct privilege
levels you can also see the status of faxes belonging to other
RELAY users.

Address Book
You can use the RELAY Address Book to store regularly used numbers
under a short name for quick access and selection at message send
time. Each short name can hold both a main and alternative fax
number. Entries are personal or system wide and, for mailshotting
applications, can be linked into distribution lists to allow the
same fax to be sent to multiple destinations in a single operation.
